PRACTICE | TRAINING
Practice battling with your favorite characters.
Select your character and the character you want to practice against, then the stage you want to practice on.
Press the OPTIONS button (PS4™) / Menu button (Xbox One) during training to open the Pause Menu, where you can select various options.
Your practice opponent can be controlled with a separate controller, or you can record and replay your opponent's actions.
PAUSE MENU
Restart | Restart from match start positions or from the edge of the screen. |

Action | Set your opponent's actions. |
Guard | Turn your opponent's guard on or off, or set the way your opponent guards. |
Counter | Turn counters on or off. |
Wake up | Set your opponent's actions after being downed. |
Key data | Turn the key data display on or off. |
Attack data | Turn the attack data display on or off. |
◯◯Life Gauge | Set recovery and other Life Gauge settings for yourself and your opponent. |
◯◯ Rage Gauge | Set Rage Gauge settings for yourself and your opponent. |
Rage Gauge Revive | Turning this on causes your Rage Gauge to not disappear even after a Rage Explosion. |
Super Special Move | Set how many times Super Special Moves can be used. |
HUD display | Turn the HUD display on or off. |
RECORDING
Record and replay your practice opponent character's actions.
This feature has two modes, Normal and Reversal. When set to Reversal, the recorded action will be replayed after your practice opponent recovers from being attacked.
Recording | Select Normal or Reversal. |

Reversal | When Recording is set to Reversal, you can set the kinds of post-recovery situations that your practice opponent will replay the recording under. |
Recording slots | Choose a recording slot. Up to four types of recordings can be made in each mode. |
SLOT1 - SLOT4 | Select which slot's action to replay. If multiple slots are set to PLAY, they will be randomly replayed. |
When set to Normal, press the REC button (default: L3 button (PS4™) / press down on the left stick (Xbox One)) to control your practice opponent, at which point your actions will start being recorded.
Press the REC button again to end the recording.
Once the recording is finished, press the PLAY button (default: R3 button (PS4™) / press down on the right stick (Xbox One)) to replay the recorded action.
Set the REPEAT button in Button Config to allow recorded actions to be repeated.
In Reversal mode, press the REC button to begin a three second countdown. When it reaches 0, you can begin recording actions.
Once the recording is finished, press the PLAY button to replay the recorded action after recovering from the state specified in the Pause Menu.
*When set to Reversal, REPEAT will behave in the same way as PLAY.
RESTARTING USING THE TOUCH PAD BUTTON (PS4™) / VIEW BUTTON (Xbox One)
In Training mode, you can choose to Restart from the Pause Menu
or by pressing the touch pad button (PS4™) / D-pad plus the View button (Xbox One).

This mode lets you can learn about this game's basic controls and systems.
It will teach you a broad range of topics, from basic actions to techniques that will affect the outcome of a match.
Try learning techniques in this mode when you first start playing.
