STORY OF KOF XI

Mukai succeeded in breaking the seal on Orochi during the events of KOF 2003. During the ensuing chaos, Ash Crimson stole the power of the Yata Mirror from an injured Chizuru Kagura—the tournament's sponsor. The event came to a close amidst this turmoil, a great disquiet permeating the air.

But days turn into months, the seasons change, and sure enough the time has come again: another year, another King of Fighters.

One by one the tournament spots get filled—by faces old and new. Eiji Kisaragi returns, followed by newcomers Oswald, B. Jenet, Duck King, Momoko, and Elisabeth Blanctorche. What could they all be seeking in this global competition rife with untold secrets and threats? Now, more than ever before, the heat is on.

And things aren't just livening up in front of the camera. Behind the brilliant display of martial prowess that is the KOF tournament proper lies a complex web of ulterior motives.

What will be the next move from "Those from the Past," the organization that showed themselves in the last tournament? What will become of the power of Orochi unleashed by Mukai? Can the Sacred Treasures launch an offense without Chizuru Kagura? And what is Ash Crimson's true purpose?

The stage is set, and the doors to battle are cast open once again.
